Lloyd my Polaroid
Bad investment? I bought this camera from the flea market warehouse in Chelsea. They had fabulous buttons from 1940's and accordion cameras from 1930's even bulky gold chain necklaces from the 80's, but I settled my $20 on a Polaroid Sun 600 LMS camera from 1970.Turns out the instant film ended production just a few months ago so I had to special order the film from amazon.com that cost about the same price.
Now I listed a combo of the film and this camera on Ebay for $50.
Now I want to get what I have been wanting to get for a while...a Diana camera. There's one on Ebay for $4.99 and shipping is $8.50 but it's not a true diana camera, its just one that looks just like it. But I would rather get one that looks and acts like one for $13 than a real one for $50. Although, I did find a new one for $42.00 I'm not sure if it's a wise decision.
I wanted the polaroid because it's kinda cool to have one, isn't it? But this model is just not that practical since you have to scavenger for film and pay $25 for 10 pics.

Just Working, No Drinking
Last night I was carded just to work. This place, Blvd, is more like Bull s---. I came in through the door telling the man I was working with the company hosting that night and as I had already walked through the door he asked to see my id, I showed him and was about to run back in when he said he needed to scan it. I'M TRYING TO WORK, I'M ALREADY LATE WHY ARE YOU CARDING ME??!!?
He slid the card, got a confused look and asked how old I was. "I'm under 21 dude."
So he took me to the manager, "Doesn't your boss know how old you are?"
I'm old enough to legally work, that's all that really matters right now!
He tells the manager about my case and he pretty much says "ya, so what?" So the guy suggests that he takes me over to the bartenders and tells them not to serve me.
Like I would be drinking during work anyways??!!?
I went over to meet with my colleagues, told them what happened, and they were suprised that he even carded me.
If he handled them based on appearance, I would've carded them. They do not look old at all and I would speculate them being 21.
Why was I carded if even my co-workers thought I was older than 21??
This place...ugh.

Having work in Labor Day makes it literal
Almost as rotten as these strawberries.
I was suppose to have Pinkberry with W tomorrow at noon but that won't work unless I get out of work 2 hours after I started!
I have been getting up at 11 am all weekend, I have to prepare to get up at 8:30 am tomorrow.
I completed 2 designs today, one of which counts and the other is not going to be used even though I thought it was amazing.
The creative work I cam accomplish in my dorm is genius compared to what I get done at the cubicle. I did probably the most ugliest invitations at work. R probably thinks so too, but I probably owned the last 2 I submitted so I wont get fired :)
If I work Fashion Week on Sept. 10 then I won't be able to take advantage of Fashion's Night Out to the fullest.

First day of Work

Yes, I had my first day of work yesteryday and I did nothing but DESIGN. Pretty good thing to do when you love to do it. For some reason, my creativity was OFF in that cubicle, but here I just did this design that I really love with these stylized leaves and it mimics the Fashion's Night Out posters (which is Sept. 10 in NYC, you need to take advantage of it!)
All the designers are being invited for our event at Fashion Week. Even celebs ( Paris Hilton, Kanye West, Real Housewives of everywhere...) are showing up to see Dwight Eubanks (Real Housewives of Atlanta), Kenley Collins and Terri Stevens (Project Runway Season 5).
To attend the event you must RSVP at ifashionnetwork.com.
There's still a lot more to add to the site (maybe I can be switched to that dept ;) ) but I applaud it's straight-forwardness.

Gossip Girl with no 'S'
Blake was wearing a blue and white plaid button down shirt with a white tank top underneath paired with fitted blue shorts. She was the same height as me (about 5'3") and stood on her toes for the photos to look taller.
When I saw her coming out of the trailer it looked like Blake Lively but when she stood close to me she just looked totally different.
It was really funny- there were some people walking around with hooded sweaters pretending like they were from the cast then took off their hoods when they realized people started taking photos of them.
Blake was the only one who took photos with everyone. This was the process:
Only one camera was used to take photos of each group (every one was split into 3 groups with each group having one photo) and they told everyone to tag everyone else in the photo on Facebook.
They (the security) got really pissed at people who took too many photos. I was taking a photo of Blake in her van and the security guy was like "Miss, don't do that!"
I saw Leighton Miester, Chase Crawford, and Ed Westwick slip out from a door that no one was crowding around, it was pretty funny actually.

Going Greek with a Busted Ethernet
I had a HUGE problem today when I woke up this morning with my laptop on my bed.
Suggestion-- DON'T DO IT. Do not fall asleep when you are 4 ft off the ground. That is all that I am going to say.
So I have to go to the Apple store to have Macky fixed (no not neutered, it's a laptop silly) and it has to be at the oddest hour...
Yes, the closest one to me is on 14th St, but their Genius bar is fully booked so it directed me to the 5th Ave store. The times given were between 3-4. Not to bad.
But I looked at the funny letters that followed these numbers. Letters that don't make SENSE with these numbers.
AM.
I ate a gyro platter today and now my stomach is super full. Can't wait for Jewelry Design tomorrow.
